Full of natural arches, slot canyons, and amazing rock formations- this is one of the most picturesque road trips in the United States.

Utah National Parks Road Trip - See The Mighty 5

Moab is full of recreational activities & is also a great home base to visit 2 of the Mighty 5 National Parks. In addition to outdoor activities, you can cruise Hwy 128 - a popular scenic road.

What to do in Moab

While in Moab, there are plenty of fun things to do like: rafting the Colorado River, mountain biking, renting an OHV, and rock climbing.

Arches National Park

A few miles north of Moab lies Arches. Great for climbing, hiking, & full of naturally balanced rocks & red rocks. Our favorite hike was Delicate Arch.

The 2nd of the Mighty 5 and also close to Moab. Canyonlands is home to the Needles District. Cave Spring Slickrock, & Mesa Arch are great hikes to do here.

Canyonlands National Park

Goblin Valley State Park

Though not one of the Mighty 5, this park is worth the stop, especially with kids. It's full of climbable structures, dried-up riverbeds for exploring, & troll-like hoodoos.

Captiol Reef National Park

Defined by the Waterpocket Fold, this park is our favorite of the Mighty 5! It consists of scenic hikes, beautiful arches, offroad driving & even fruit picking!

The last 2 of the Mighty 5 are in Southern Utah. At Bryce Canyon, we love the Navajo Loop/Queens Garden Trail- very cool.  At Zion, exploring The Narrows is great!
