We are a full time traveling family who is on a 5 month road trip up the west coast! While we are on our trip we are trying to find some less visited and lesser known locations. Which is why we made a stop at Pinnacles National Park in California! It is a small National Park in the middle of California with an awesome cave hike.

Everyone had a flashlight and we headed out to hike to the cave we would hike through. The hike itself was a nice steady hike and the cave was awesome. Our only complaint was we wish the cave part was longer!

Exploring a much less visited part of Yosemite National Park: Hetch Hetchy! On the hike you go over the dam, through a tunnel and then walk right next to the waterfall! We also talk about hiking with kids and why we like to make hiking part of our full time travel with kids itinerary.

Yosemite is so busy so we loved that we were able to find a much less busy part of the park!

With RV living and full time travel with kids we have learned that downtime is as important as going out to explore. During our time at Yosemite we spend time hanging out at the campground where the kids could play, found snow for building snowman, and had campfires at night when we got back from exploring.

In this video we explore the less visited Tuolumne Meadows section of the park where we found snow to build a snowman! Then headed back into the Valley the next day to visit the Yosemite Village, the museums there, Lower Yosemite Falls and Half Dome Village.

We wanted to hike the 6.8 mile Mist Trail and Nevada Falls in Yosemite National Park and we totally got lost on our way to the trailhead . . . we finally made it and I am so glad we did! We visit a lot of national parks as a full time RVing family and do a lot of hiking and this hike is now in our list of all time favorite family travel hikes! Hiking with kids like travel with kids can be a challenge and with a 2000 foot gain this was definitely a difficult hike. However hiking next to a waterfall and with beautiful scenery made it a little easier!
We made it up to the top and then on the way down we saw a bear on the trail! A little scary but also really cool since the bear could have cared less that we were there. Living in an RV and traveling full time means we have seen quite a bit of wildlife and it is definitely a highlight of our travels. Yosemite is also among our list of best national parks now!

One of our favorite things to do as a full time traveling family is visit national parks! After being on the road for 4 years we still hadn't made it to Yosemite National Park. We were so excited to finally be here and to start exploring. We get asked a lot about what to do in National Parks with kids that aren't use to hiking we are hoping this video will give some ideas around things to do when traveling with kids to national parks!

On our first full day in Yosemite we visited Glacier Point then went on 2 hikes (one 2 miles on less then half a mile) and explored the Pioneer History center. Yosemite is a beautiful park and is an amazing Family Travel location! Through RV Living we have learned that we really enjoy staying in the national parks and were able to get a spot at the North Pines campground. It was well worth it and we highly recommend staying in the park!

We had so much fun hiking and exploring in Sequoia National Park. The size of these trees is unbelievable! We were able to visit the largest tree by volume in the world! It was HUGE. We also took the van and drove through a tree. Luckily we didn't try this with the Trailer because that would not have ended up well.

When you travel with kids you are always looking for fun and cool things to do. We would say seeing the largest tree in the world and driving through a tree ranks up there as an amazing family travel location that everyone - including Mom and Dad will enjoy.

It was hard to nail it down to one day but we did and we fit a lot in of really cool things while we were there. Sequoia is a National Park that should not be missed!

We had so much fun hiking and exploring in Kings Canyon National Park! I can't believe more people don't travel to Kings Canyon on their way to Yosemite! With RV Living we have been to a lot of National Parks and Kings Canyon ranks up there with the best national parks! There were so many great hikes to do and waterfalls and canyons to explore. PLUS we got to see the 2nd largest tree in the US!

When you travel with kids you are always looking for fun and cool things to do that the kids will enjoy as well and Kings Canyon had it all. You will see the tree we got to WALK through, the tree we got to slide down and the size of these amazing trees. When hiking with kids it is always good when they have so much to look at and explore that they forget that they are on a hike!

It was hard to nail it down to one day but we did and we fit a lot in of really cool things while we were there. Kings Canyon is a National Park that should not be missed!

We had so much fun exploring museums in Pasadena and LA then heading over to Venice Beach and Malibu! There are so many great things to do with kids in Los Angeles!
